I am glad this week of training ended on a high note. My short runs this week were a struggle, but today's long run was great.
I didn't post after my run on Friday night. I had full intention of running 4 miles down to Joe's baseball game, but 1.85 miles in Joe called and said they were in Thunder delay...so I stopped at Cherry Tree. I am glad I did...the rains came a few minutes later. So 2 miles is all I got in that day.
Today I was scheduled for a 7 mile run and Kelly for a 6.5. we set out to tackle 6-6.5 miles. I was determined to knock out that 5 mile loop without getting sick today. It was much cooler and less humid.
We knocked it off and I didn't even realize it until Kelly brought if to my attention that we did it! What an accomplishment for us! Kelly and I went a little over 6 miles together with a consistent 2 minute run and 1 minute walk. With a 5 minute warm-up and 5 minute cool down. We kept a a pretty good pace today too! After we split on the way home I took the long way to get in a little more.
I am saying 7 miles today...I don't start my App until I get to the high school and that is about a 1/4 mile. Every little bit adds up!
Next week Karen is coming in town and we are going to run together and run in a Race for the Cure in Bloomington. Looking forward to it!
