It seems that ever since I got back from Italy I have not been going on longer runs. I realize I did a 12K in there but other than that I have not gone over 5 miles. I needed to get back on track so I kicked it up to a little over 8 miles today. It felt good! I did the first 5 1/2 with the walk/run interval with Kelly and then I finished the next couple miles on my own...running most of the way.
I have officially completed 14 weeks of training! I have not totally completed the Official Disney Training Program, but I have completed the weeks. I think the longest run to date is close to 10 miles...I am getting more confident that if I HAD to run the 1/2 next week I could do it. Mind over matter!
It still amazes me that as I have progressed in my training I have also progressed in other ways...for example Kelly and I CAN run and talk. When I first started running I didn't think there is any way that I would be able to do that. In just 14 weeks I am!
I looked back on my "Rules of Running" that I have been creating over the weeks and some of them are reflecting running in the warmer temperatures...I have forgotten what that was like. I don't mind running in the colder weather I just miss the warm weather. I went for a walk outside yesterday when it was in the mid-30's and everything was warm except my thighs...I made sure I wore two layers today.
I think I am going to have to look for some higher socks so it covers my ankles. Right now it isn't bad but if the wind chill gets down lower I may want to have them.
