In a week I will be in WDW preparing for the DPHM! I can't believe it is so close. I am glad I got outside to run today. I feel so much better. I was dragging a little this afternoon and now I feel so much more energized...a little sore, but energized!

I knew I needed to get out and run as I commented in my last post...it is tooooo easy NOT to run and I can't do that. I have trained to hard to slack off now. I continue to picture myself and Karen running next weekend through WDW property. I can't even imagine what it will really be like! I really wish I had a goPro camera so I could capture every moment of it. I made it 5 mile today and that is less than 1/2 way BUT it is when we will be entering into the Magic Kingdom area. Again, I can't even imagine! But I am certain that excitement and adrenaline will be a huge part of completing the run.

It's tooooo easy...

not to run! After my 8 mile weekend (3 on Sat + 5 on Sunday) I knew I had a day or two of rest, but here it is Wednesday afternoon and I had not run yet this week. It is cold and windy out so I forced myself on the treadmill and struggled with 30 minutes and 2 miles. Ugh...NOT acceptable to not run! I will need to get back on the treadmill again tomorrow and get my legs acclimated to running because today it was not easy.

Not sure of the weather forecast this week so if I don't get outside I will do the treadmill.

For whatever reason the top of my right foot is sore/tender. Not sure if it is my new running shoes or if it was another pair of shoes that I have worn recently. Not sure but will have to watch it. That is why I am taking both pairs of running shoes with me to PHM. Don't want to take any chances.

OK listen to me... 5 miles and I struggled...just a few months ago I was on cloud 9 when I did a walk/ run of 5-6 miles. This run I ran 5 miles with a couple of short walk intervals (maybe a total of 3 minutes walking) to get me through. I didn't run the entire time but in the whole scheme of things I did OK in the run. I guess I am used to being able to run 5 miles without stopping and I just didn't do it this time.

I originally was only going out for a 3 mile run but decided to go a little more once I was out. Whenever I had a chance to take a short route home or a longer route I chose the longer route. I was determined to get 5 miles in before Mom and Dad's house...I had to run around a parking lot a few times but right in front of their house I hit 5 miles. My times were fine my legs were just heavy. I think it was the afternoon run after lunch that contributed to that.

The weather was too nice not to go out and run so even though I had run 3 miles on the treadmill the day before I wanted to get outside for a run. It was worth it! According to training I should be winding down from long runs and just run 3-4 miles or 30 minute runs.

The PHM FB page is blowing up with excitement and rightfully so...especially for all the first timers like myself and Karen.

Nice out, but chose to run inside...crazy I know.

After a long week of snow, slush, ice etc... it is sunny and 40's, and I chose to run 3 miles on the treadmill. I am just so afraid of slipping on "black ice" on the side of the streets or sidewalks. I am hoping to get outside for a 5-6 mile run in the next week or so, but not willing to take a chance of slipping or pulling anything this close to DPHM. i just need the streets and sidewalks to get a little more sunshine and clear of snow, ice etc...before I go outside again.

I am running for the experience...not time so all I need to do is finish the 13.1 to reach my goal. With Karen and all the other runners, I am hopeful that I can accomplish my goal. So if I don't get in another "long" run before Disney I will have to hope that my 3 miles several times a week will get me through.

What I hate most is that I don't have the MapMyRun stats for all of my treadmill runs. I have been wearing my FitBit so at least I have something to track all of my hard work.

Glitter on the treadmill!

Today was snowy, cold and slick and I had not run since my 13 miles on Friday so I decided to have an easy run on the treadmill and try out/on my princess costume. I needed to make sure it would not rub anywhere and stay on and was comfortable enough...it was good on all accounts. Success on the costume but there is glitter on the treadmill now. Oh well, the price you have to pay to be a princess!

I had a 30 minute 2.25 miles on the treadmill. I took it easy and feel good about it. Between the long run on Friday and shoveling snow over the weekend and today my body was telling me to take it easy so I listened.

20 more days until the big run...I can hardly stand it. So much activity on the FB pages. We found out our bib numbers and our corral placement. Karen and I are in Corral I along with approx. 2,100 others. :-) We even have a FB group for Corral I.

I received my ribbon today to wear throughout the weekend to show we are part of the FB group. That should be fun to see others with it on too.
