Disney bound!

The time was here to leave for my "Challenge"Accepted". Walt Disney Princess Half Marathon 2015!

I traveled down to St. Louis on Wednesday and spent the night there so Karen and I could get up bright and early to head to the airport. The time to go was finally here. It was a chilly -4 wind chill when we left the midwest and we were looking forward to warmer weather ahead.

While in the airport and on the plane we met several other "princesses" We ended up sitting next to 3 other princesses, two of them, Heather and Tricia, we actually ended up spending time with at WDW.

Per usual Disney, we had signed up for the Magical Express and everything was taken care of. With the Disney tags we put on our luggage ahead of time we just went straight to the bus area, canned our magic bands and loaded the bus. We received an e-mail on the way to the resort that our room was ready. We just checked in to change my credit card on my magic band and away we went.

First stop...Princess Weekend Expo to pick up our bibs and shirts. And to purchase some items before they sold out. I really wanted an "I did it" t-shirt. We were there in plenty of time to find everything we wanted and then some. What we did realize at the time was that we also needed to go to another booth to pick up our Race Retreat bands. We had to go back on Saturday to pick those up...but not a problem.

Thursday night we went to Wolfgang Puck Express and then to watch Bob Jackson at Port Orleans. It was a fun night.

Friday was a full day at the parks...started off at Hollywood Studios and then on to Animal Kingdom, followed up by Magic Kingdom for the night-time parade, light show and fireworks. Spectacular!

Saturday was our rest day. We were told to rest our legs on Saturday before the 1/2 on Sunday. We listened. We went back to the Expo that day to pick up our Race Retreat bands and exchange a shirt. Karen went to the outlet mall and I went back to the resort. It was a beautiful day. I was jealous of how others were already wearing 5K and 10K medals! I still had to wait to get my "bling". Everyone was congratulating those who were wearing medals...it was fun encouraging others on their accomplishments.

We had early dinner reservations at Downtown Disney so we went early for dinner and were back to the resort by 7:30. It was time for "bed". Even though we tried to go to sleep I ended up only sleeping a few hours. Maybe 3 hours...only  few more hours until the big day!
